WEBVTT

00:00:02.000 --> 00:00:11.000
Six people make up the White Room Closeout Crew that are assisting the astronauts.

00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:17.000
This is Mission Specialist 5, Charlie Camarda.

00:00:17.000 --> 00:00:27.000
He willl sit in seat 7, that's the mid-deck flight seat.

00:00:27.000 --> 00:00:37.000
We're being joined now here in firing room 3 by Astronaut Alan Poindexter. He's currently serving the Astronaut Office Shuttle Operations branch

00:00:37.000 --> 00:00:46.000
and performing duties as a lead support Astronaut at Kennedy Space Center and he's assigned to STS-120.

00:00:46.000 --> 00:00:50.000
Alan, welcome.
Good morning George. Glad to be here.
<br>

00:00:50.000 --> 00:01:03.000
All the crew is making progress in their, in their boarding and how would you sort of sum up what the Astronauts are doing right now

00:01:03.000 --> 00:01:11.000
as they've gotten in or getting prepared to launch and what will they be doing that's coming up?

00:01:11.000 --> 00:01:16.000
They're going through all of their personal equipment checks

00:01:16.000 --> 00:01:21.000
and getting strapped in and getting their parachute hooked up

00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:28.000
and then they will start a series of communication checks and
I believe we heard some of the crew members already checked in with those.

00:01:28.000 --> 00:01:29.000
